Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the meaning of "Second Sign?"
"Second Sign" refers to the astrological sign of Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac and Cheryl's birth sign. Taurus is a fixed earth sign ruled by Venus and represented by the bull.
  • What are the benefits of sound healing?
Sound healing offers a wide range of benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep quality, enhanced focus and clarity, emotional release, increased creativity, and a greater sense of inner peace and harmony. It can also help to release energetic blockages and support overall health and vitality.
  • How does sound healing work?
Sound bathing harnesses the power of pure tonal frequencies emitted by crystal singing bowls, Himalayan metal bowls, chimes and other instruments to induce a profound state of relaxation and healing. As the sound "washes over" participants in a group setting, their brainwaves gradually transition from the alert beta state to the more tranquil alpha state, and eventually to the meditative theta state. This transition triggers the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, countering the stress and anxiety associated with the sympathetic nervous system's "fight or flight" response. As our physiological responses harmonize with the rhythm of the sound, we experience a deep sense of serenity and well-being.
  • Is sound healing safe for everyone?
Sound healing is generally a safe practice for most people. However, individuals with certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy or severe mental health disorders, should consult with a healthcare professional before participating in sound healing sessions. Sound healing is also not recommended for women who are pregnant.
  • What can I expect during a sound healing session?
During a group sound healing session, you can expect to lie down comfortably while I create a soothing and immersive sonic experience using various instruments, including crystal singing bowls with 432hz frequency, Himalayan bowls, chimes and drums that mimic the sound of the ocean. You may be guided through breathing exercises or visualization techniques to enhance the healing effects of the sound. The experience of a sound bath is deeply personal. You may find that you enter a deep meditative state, or enjoy focusing on the physical sensations of sound waves as they resonate in the room. Participants often share experiences of experiencing waves of joy, peace, clarity, creativity and even sadness as deep-seated emotions and toxins are released.
  • How should I prepare for a sound healing session?
To prepare for your session, it's beneficial to arrive with an open mind and a willingness to relax and enjoy the healing vibrations. Avoid consuming heavy meals or caffeine immediately before the session, and try to hydrate adequately throughout the day. You may also want to set an intention or focus for your healing experience -- even if that intention is to simply relax.
  • What should I bring to the session?
A yoga mat and any items that will enhance your comfort, such as a pillow, blanket, bolster or eye mask. You may also bring any personal objects or crystals that you would like to incorporate into your healing experience. Dressing in layers is ideal.
  • What can I expect after a sound healing session?
After a sound healing session, you may feel deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, and more in tune with your body and emotions. It's common to notice shifts in your energy levels and overall well-being. It's important to drink plenty of water and take time to integrate the experience at your own pace.
